This is an example of the latest batch of birthday cards for the birthday card ministry at our church. Some months I create a bunch of a card design myself and other times I meet up with some lovely volunteers to assemble them. This summer I mostly did them on my own because I was challenged to schedule time for a get-together. Happily I was able to get together with the volunteers in August to make the cards for September. I love hanging out for a little time with these amazing ladies!

Other than the ink colors and cardstock, the elements on this card are retired. The birthday card ministry is a perfect chance to use some retired products for a great purpose. I have a very large stash of designer series paper and ribbon, and I love being able to use up some of it for this great ministry.

Also, my birthday happens this month, so I will get to receive one of these cards in the mail. Even though it won’t be a surprise, the sweet wishes that a volunteer wrote inside will brighten my day.
