Over the weekend I spent several wonderful hours creating a batch of 25 of this card for the November birthday celebrants among our church family. This sample uses all current Stampin’ Up! products, but the rest of the cards that I made used some “rogue” patterned paper that I purchased online. I used one of my favorite tricks of die-cutting 3 of the word and stacking them to create an element with more depth for the card. I have to say that it added a fair amount of time to the project, so hopefully I’ll remember in the future when I’m designing so I don’t spend the whole weekend on the project. My husband kept asking “how much longer”; the adult version of “are we there yet”? I am especially enjoying a creative escape right now to distract me from the background gloom that I have regarding the pandemic and missing all of the things I can’t do and the people that I can’t see. Some creativity allows me to feel productive, while keeping myself and others safe. I highly recommend it, especially now!

I have used this sketch for other creations in the past, and I’m sure that I’ll pull it out again in the future. It is just so perfect to showcase our pretty patterned papers, so I keep going back to it.

For this version of the card that I’ve created, the central panel is shorter and off-center. I do like the original, but I appreciate how this interpretation shows off more of the pretty patterned paper in the center. I do really love the Flowers for Every Season paper! I also can’t get enough of the coordinating Flowers for Every Season Gems – the clear ones are perfect for any project and I would love to get a bunch more in the future!
