I have to say that my creativity mojo has been zapped lately. I was under the weather earlier this month and it’s taking me some time to get back to fully feeling normal. I am much better, but still not feeling 100%. I have these visions of creations that I want to work on, but when I get the time after work I’m finding that I’m zapped. I think one thing that will help me is to spend some time planning out some projects that I want to do. I can pick a stamp set, some pretty paper, and plan out something to do. And do this a few times so that when I am filled with energy, then I have a plan (or 2) already laid out and I’ll be able to get creating more quickly. I definitely go through times when my mojo is more plentiful than others. Having alternative strategies for those low-mojo times will still help me feel like I’m getting in some creative time. And that is absolutely crucial for my mental well-being.

This sketch was the inspiration for my card layout. The squiggly lines on this patterned paper seemed like it was an easy alternative to piecing together several different papers for the multi-color panel in the sketch. Add some butterflies, an embossing folder for some texture, some retired sequins for bling, a diecut sentiment, and Bob’s yer uncle… you have a card for the challenge!

The patterned paper that I used for this card is one of the Host rewards options in the January – April Mini catalog. There are some bold, colorful patterns in this paper and I really encourage you to check it out and consider it when placing an order that qualifies for host rewards.
