Can you believe it – Sean Connery turns 90 today! I grew up watching him as James Bond and have since enjoyed him in so many other roles. One of my favorite was as the Russian submarine captain (with a pretty bad accent) in The Hunt for Red October – ‘give me a ping Vasily, one ping only please’. I hope Sean’s special day is truly wonderful!
I used this old sketch as the inspiration for my card. Each month I’m making a bunch of the same card design for a birthday card ministry at our church. When I looked at this layout, I decided to use some DSP on the side panels instead of the likely more typical center section. I’m using up some retired and contraband patterned paper for these cards, so I look for ways to use it (frugally) on cards to create a bunch. I did create 3 for this batch using a sheet from the Plaid Tidings pack (which I’m still totally in love with). That’s the card that I’m sharing here. I had fun creating with this older sketch!
