I didn’t watch the Emmys this year, and from the critics reviews I didn’t really miss much. But, it sounds like the various winners were the real high point, which may be what it should be all about anyhow. At any rate, I was very excited to hear the Peter Dinklage won Outstanding Supporting Actor for Game of Thrones. He was consistently amazing in that show, and he broke an Emmys record by earning this same award 4 times for the same role. So, I would love to virtually congratulate him with this fall-themed card for his hard work and recognition.

This was the second card that the South Burlington stamp club group created at the September meeting. I love using Fall colors for cards, it was when I first started stamping so it is kinda like coming home. I think that the patterns in the Come to Gather DSP in the Holiday catalog and I enjoyed partnering one design with some stamps from the main catalog for this design.

This card sketch was the inspiration for my card design. I didn’t deviate much from the design, I just added the burlap and Congratulations banner. Which reminds me, I did something a little different to get that twine you see on the card. I cut a length of Burlap ribbon and then cut one edge off. Once you remove an edge, it allows you to pull out the individual strands from the woven plastic mesh that holds it all together. Voilà! I could have used Linen Thread, but I wanted to show people this trick with the Burlap ribbon.
