The patterns in the Countryside Inn patterned paper are just gorgeous! I love the shades of blue with white and the soothing patterns of this paper. If you look closely, you’ll spot rabbits, birds, and foxes in different paper designs. All of the designs include different floral imagery (which is totally in my zone). The design that I used for this box reminds me of Delftware from Holland. Can you see it? I have been reluctant to use the paper for projects because the patterns are so pretty and I don’t want to run out. I know it’s silly, and I’m happy to have used some for this box. Hoarding the paper is not going to do me any good because I have soooo much paper, so I’m trying to get past my initial tendency to save it. I am very pleased with how it works for this box, and I’ll try to use some more again soon.
I created this box a few months ago during an online class. The instructor called this box a “ribbon slider box”, so perhaps you can use that description to find instructions online. I don’t feel like I can share the instructions here since the instructor is really the owner of those directions. I don’t want to infringe on her potentially copyrighted directions.
The cool thing about this box is that it is expandable depending on what you put inside the box. My picture shows the box at it’s smallest size where the patterned paper top is sitting on top of the bottom of the box. However, if you put something taller inside the box, the top can sit on that and still cover it up. The ribbon is extra long to accommodate a taller box. I haven’t attached the label or trimmed the ribbon because I need to be able to put something inside the box before I totally finish it. The instructor showed an example where she put some nip bottles of liquor inside of one box, and she put some chocolates in another. Which would you prefer as a gift? 😊
