no_bones_about_it_baltimore_swapI am not normally drawn to the stamps that are in the kids section of the catalog. I think that is at least partly due to the fact that my one-and-only is a senior in college, and I discovered stamping well after the age where I would have gotten a lot of use of those types of stamps. That being said – I just could not resist purchasing this super cute stamp set during the recent 15% off sale from Stampin’ Up! I suspect that part of why this called to me was because I went through a HUGE dinosaur phase when I was in 3rd grade. There was this one ginormous book that I borrowed over and over again from our school library. I couldn’t get enough of reading about Triceratops, Brontosaurus, Ankylosaurus and so many more. I admit it – I have always been a geek. cool

I am headed out to Baltimore soon for a Stampin’ Up! event for demonstrators. I haven’t been able to go to one for a while because of the whole college thing – ya know. I decided that I had been frugal for long enough, and it seems that the end may be in sight, so I wouldn’t be totally running amok to spend some $$ on some special stamping time. Part of these events is “general swapping” where you trade card ideas with other demonstrators that are at the event. I used this sketch to design this cute card featuring the dinos. I only made 12 of these, so I won’t get lots in return, but I’m participating in two other organized swaps, so I will definitely be coming home with a bunch of card ideas. I’ll share my other swap cards in future posts, so stay tuned.
