The South Burlington stamp club met this evening, and as I was driving home I was listening to the show “q” from the CBC on Vermont Public Radio. One of the segments was about some of the Emmy nominees, in particular the host (Tom Power) talked with Eugene Levy who received a nomination for lead actor in Schitt’s Creek. I loved hearing him recount how he and other members of the cast learned in real time about the various nominations that they received – what a humble and wonderful guy! So… I would love to offer up this card as a wish for all of the nominees. There are some really great shows that received nominations (I’m personally pulling for Chernobyl from HBO – that was an amazing mini series, and it received 19 nominations).
This card was actually one of the cards that the Stamp Club group created. I used this challenge for the color scheme of the card. And happily, the gals in club liked the color scheme, too! I was especially happy to find a pattern of DSP that I own that worked with the colors, too. The nice thing about this card is that the greeting is versatile – it could be for a birthday, retirement, promotion, … you get the idea. Anything that calls for a celebration is a good match for the sentiment on this card.
I dug into the internet archives to find this old sketch that I used as inspiration for my card layout. The focal image is a tad larger on the sketch, but overall I followed the design pretty darned closely. I added some ribbon on the horizontal section, but everything else is pretty much as you see here.

Andrea, your card is gorgeous! I had to smile at your post because my husband and I were JUST talking about Schitt’s Creek the other day after watching an interview with the cast. They just seem like really genuine, nice folks. I’d love to see them win some awards because that show is fantastic. I have Chernobyl on my watch list, too. Thanks so much for joining us this week over at The Paper Players!
Thanks so much for your kind words Anne Marie – I had fun creating for the challenge. I can’t recommend Chernobyl highly enough – warning… there are a couple of tough spots in the show. They were necessary in the aftermath, but still difficult to ponder.
This is just lovely! Simple, yet very pretty and you’re right…the sentiment can be used for many occasions! So happy that my color palette was one that your group liked! On another note, we used to watch Schitt’s Creek (just saying the name cracks me up) but haven’t watched it for a while….I will need to keep Chernobyl in mind, the next time we want to watch something interesting! TFS!
Thanks so much for your kind words LeAnne, they brightened my day! The group definitely loved your color combination, so I was glad for the inspiration. I also have a small chuckle whenever I consider the show Schitt’s Creek, whoever came up with that title was a genius!
Lovely take on the PP colors! My son and DIL also spoke highly of the Chernobyl mini series. Thanks for joining us at Paper Players!
Thanks so much Wanda – I enjoyed the bright color challenge and was happy to participate.
