You may recall that I offered a class in May for a framed floral art piece. You may not have noticed the stamped greeting that’s in the upper right of that piece. It’s a scripture quote: “In every thing give thanks” 1 Thessalonians 5:18. This also makes me think of the quote that I have as part of my email signature: “… it isn’t joy that makes us grateful, it’s gratitude that makes us joyful.”. I really do think that this sentiment is a great way to live in a way that brings meaning and joy. Anyhow, that sentiment is part of the Courage & Faith stamp set, which is the same set that I used for the stamped greeting on this card. I know that this card isn’t for everyone, since not everyone is part of a Christian or Jewish faith tradition. I will be sending this card to someone that I know through our church, I just haven’t decided who yet. I really like the Courage & Faith stamp set and I’ll surely be using it for cards for my church peeps throughout the year. I think creating a large batch for sending during Lent (my annual way of observing) will be a great idea.

This old sketch from March of 2021 was the inspiration for the layout of my card. I have used this sketch a bunch of times and I still love it! This time I rotated the sketch 90° so that the front rectangular panel is in the upper left of the card. The Scalloped Contours rectangle as the frame was perfect for the Deckled Rectangle die that I used for the greeting. It was all sized just right for my card and I really like how it turned out.

Another great aspect of this card layout is that it allows me to use and show off some of the pretty patterned papers. This one is a multi-color pattern from the Inked Botanicals papers. I’ve used these papers a bunch and I still think that they are fantastic!
