The beginning of last week was really hot and humid and now this week is much cooler. In fact the last couple of mornings have been in the 50’s which is a definite shift, and my husband noticed last evening that it was getting darker at 8pm. All signs of Fall that is inexorably approaching, although I’m not ready to let go of summer yet!
The Banner Year stamp set with the Plaid Tidings patterned paper are a perfect pairing to create cards for various seasons. On my first viewing of the August – December Mini Catalog I immediately fell in love with the Plaid DSP. There are so many gorgeous patterns in color combinations that are perfect for so many seasons. A pretty green and red pattern that is perfect for Christmas, an orange and black combo for Halloween, a gray and black for manly cards, a blue and pink that is great for winter themed projects, a pink and purple combo for Valentine’s Day, and some gorgeous monochromatic patterns that you can use year-round. I love these papers! Now the stamp set didn’t grab my attention on my first, second or even 6th look at the catalog. But it caught my attention when I was looking for bundles that worked for multiple occasions. My first inclination with this mini catalog is to buy a bunch of Christmas sets, because that is my natural affinity. This year I’m really trying to purchase sets that are useful for more events, and this bundle is perfect for that. Also, the punch is so useful for any project – gotta have it! Don’t worry – I do have a couple of Christmas sets, too. I can’t be strong all the time!
My card is inspired by this current challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch – I’m squeaking my submission in the last hours that the challenge is open. I really like the simplicity of this layout – it offers so many possibilities for creativity. In fact, when I started looking at the sketch I pretty quickly knew what I wanted to do. My card came together fast once I decided on a Fall theme featuring these pretty plaid papers. I hope you like my creation!
