I’ve been slacking lately in getting out thank you cards, so I spent some time this weekend creating a batch of this card to send out to folks who’ve recently placed orders. I absolutely LOVE the Flowers For Every Season patterned paper that I used for these cards. The annual catalog retiring list will be coming out later this week (March 24th to be exact), and this paper is likely to be on it. No guarantees – the colors in the paper aren’t retiring, but Stampin’ Up! does tend to retire the full line of DSP when announcing the list. But… there have been the occasional exception and I REALLY hope that this paper is one of them. I adore all of the pretty flowers and I would love more time to share them with you here.

This card layout may look a little familiar to you. I shared a few cards based on a sketch here with a similar layout, and I decided to CASE (Copy And Stamp Everything) my own creation that you can see here. I created that card for an OnStage event and I loved the layout for a relatively quick design that shows off the pretty paper. Part of what I like about this design is that I can use a piece of patterned paper that is a perfect sub-cut from a sheet of patterned paper so I can maximize what I get out of the sheet. A subtle embossed background adds texture, but really allows the paper to shine and the message can really pop. I hope that the people that receive my card enjoy the pretty flowers and are hopefully reminded of warmer spring days and the flowers that we’ll all enjoy soon. My southern friends are probably already enjoying some!
