Yesterday my good friend Shelley celebrated her birthday, and I totally missed it. So… I’m sharing this birthday card with everyone a day late and I hope that she sees it.
This is actually a card that I put together when I was figuring out the next batch of birthday cards for the church card ministry. After assembling this one, I decided that it was way too much work to die cut each of the stamped rectangles to be a good idea for mass production. So… I had to come up with another plan, and I re-purposed a bunch of card front swaps that I’ve received over the years.
When I originally created the card this challenge was “live”. However, life got in the way, and I didn’t get around to posting this in time to participate. Even though I didn’t make the timeline, I wanted to share this color inspiration here so that you can experiment with this great combo. I love how these colors pop, and they came together nicely (if I do say so myself) on my birthday card.
I used this older sketch as the inspiration for my card layout. I changed the squares to be stitched rectangles, added a couple of layers, and the rest of it follows the layout you see here.
