This is another of the projects that I made during the recent online event. I have to say that the leaders really had a bunch of great projects this time, and I’m enjoying sharing them with you. For this project I used the Country Birdhouse bundle for the first time. I purchased it back when demonstrators could pre-order for the Annual catalog, but I hadn’t inked it up yet. I’m so glad that this project gave me an opportunity to play with some elements from the Country Woods Suite. The birdhouse is fantastic for creating a larger focal image on a card, and I’ve seen some fantastic projects featuring it.
The cool thing about this card is that the front art panel has a “flip” behavior. When the card is closed, it sits at the bottom of the front of the card. When you open the card, the art panel can flip on a scored hinge so that it is visible at the top of the opened card. The person that taught this card called it an Inside Outside Flip card. I don’t know if there are other tutorials online to create this card, and I don’t want to break any rules by sharing it here. She shared samples that had the top fold like I’m sharing here and with a side fold. Both of them are beautiful and are a great opportunity to showcase some great patterned papers.
