I’ve been blessed lately by several people that have placed online orders, so I needed a batch of thank you cards. This morning I got up and immediately started creating several of this card that you see here. I really hope that the recipients really feel how appreciative I am, and enjoy receiving some flowers in the mail. I also was inspired in my card by a trifecta of current challenges that all aligned perfectly for my needs. Here are the various challenges:

The layout that you see was inspired by this current sketch challenge. I created a card that has minimal layers to make it simple to mail since there is no lumpiness. I toyed with adding some additional embellishments, and creating layers for the diagonal but I finally decided that less is more for this card. I wanted these pretty flowers and the simple sentiment to do all of the work with no distractions.

One of the first stamping techniques that I learned is “masking” and I used it to create the layered look without dies on this card. I masked the diagonal greeting section and the stamped flowers. Masking is a simple technique, and the results can be quite artistic.

I really like a diagonal aspect on a card to create visual interest, and I may revisit this sketch again in the future.

My color inspiration for this card is from the current Global Design Project challenge. I love these colors together to create a bright, summer-y image as we enter late-ish August. I hope that my card recipients have their world brightened with these pretty colors!

I’m so happy that I needed to create Thank You cards because they are a perfect fit for the current challenge from Just Add Ink. There are so many cool options for adding “T” to a card, but a stamped “Thank You” definitely qualifies. I really like the creative challenges that this site offers!
