Today is the day where we celebrate the mothers (and mother figures) that are part of our lives. Our mothers have a huge impact on our lives from even before we are born. And I personally benefited from the wisdom and love of a few special women (beside my mom) while I was growing up. The loving touch, encouraging words, and quiet support helped me grow into the woman (and mother) that I am today. So – to all of them, and all of the other special mothers out there – Happy Mother’s Day!
I created this card several months ago for the In Color Club members. I created this card to feature the beautiful Berry Burst, and I love how it turned out. I used this color combination as the inspiration for my card. This challenge was active back in late July when I created this card, but I didn’t share it then because I wanted my In Color Club members to have exclusive access to the cards. Now that the club is long finished, and we are winding down the time for the current annual catalog, I feel more comfortable sharing this card with all of you. The tulips were created with a retiring host set called Tranquil Tulips. This is my favorite host stamp set from the current catalog, and I will be sad when it is gone in almost 3 weeks. If you like this stamp set, then you can still get it by placing a qualifying online order. “Qualifying” means at least $150 in merchandise. If this is too expensive for you, then you can pull together some friends and submit an order together so that you can get this pretty stamp set. If you have any questions on how to do that, please contact me.
Here’s a couple of quick tips – I inked the large flower images in Berry Burst ink, and then “stamped off” on scrap paper before stamping on the panel that you see here. Then I used full strength ink to stamp the front part of the flowers. To create the light parts of the leaves, I lightly used a baby wipe to remove a little of the ink in a few spots and then stamped the image. That was a great tip that a fellow demonstrator shared online ages ago.
