I’ll be sharing a few thank you cards over the next few days. I needed a few to send out thanking folks for online orders, so I’ve made a few different designs – all using different elements from the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack. I created this card yesterday afternoon as I was enjoying the cool air in the house. Yesterday was really hot and humid, and it was a sweaty experience worshiping in an un-air-conditioned church in the morning. We had lots of fans going and all of the windows were wide open, but there wasn’t really anything that could be done to really alleviate the mugginess in the air. So, it was a treat to change into my shorts and t-shirt and just enjoy the air conditioning once I got home. I did run a couple of short errands, but I was mostly holed up inside to stay cool. Making a card is a great way to pass the time when it’s too stinkin’ hot and humid outside! 🥵

This current sketch challenge was the inspiration for my card. I interpreted elements a little differently, but it’s all there. Instead of having the sentiment in a banner strip, I stamped it directly on the matted card front. I didn’t use a square for the focal image, instead I used a circle background behind one of the pretty floral images from the ephemera pack. And lastly, instead of the circles in the corners I used a retired mask and a blending brush to add some visual texture in those areas. That’s what great about sketches, you can use them for inspiration but it doesn’t have to be an exact match. I encourage you to give it a try!
