I announced a goal at the beginning of the year to create Christmas cards each month, but I ended up taking a bit of a break over the summer. I decided it was finally time to get on the bandwagon to avoid the late-November panic attack. This is the card that I created for my September contribution to my stash. I've made 7 of this design, so I'm doing pretty well toward my total goal. I have to say that I'm liking how the elements come together on this card. My first attempt at the card didn't include the ornament and I felt like it was missing something. I let my mind noodle on it over night and when I woke up I had the epiphany to add the ornament with the bow. I think that the ornament adds an extra something to the card. You can't really tell in the photo, but the ornament is actually embossed gold and it adds a bit more to the glitz to the card.
I created this card to participate in the Merry Monday challenge this week. It has been a while since I participated in one of their challenges, but I was inspired this week to give it a try. How do you think I did on the challenge?
I used the following materials in my card:
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, More Merry Messages
Cardstock: Real Red, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Accessories: Champagne Glimmer paper, Brights DSP (retired), Gold Foil paper, Delicate Designs embossing folder, Large Scallop Edgelit, Holiday Ornaments Framelit, Stampin' Dimensionals, elastic Gold cord (retired)
The card is lovely Andrea, and you are right, the ornament is the perfect touch. So happy you could play along with us at the Merry Monday Christmas Card Club!
