I’ve shared with you before that I make cards for the birthday card ministry at our church. This month time slipped away from me and I needed to create something simple so that I could get them to the coordinator in time. I am in love with the pretty Flower & Field patterned paper that’s available as one of the Sale-A-Bration options. So I cut up some of each of the sheets to create several cards. I think the simplicity of this card allows the patterned paper to really be the star. The only thing that I might add would be a mat behind the diagonal greeting layer, but I’m still happy with the result and it met my goal of being super-quick. Another added benefit is that there will be no risk of additional postage being required due to weight or lumpiness.

I also love the beautiful script on the birthday greeting from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. I think I will use this a lot when I want a nice, large birthday greeting. When I first saw the January – June catalog I was very excited by the Ice Cream Corner Suite. I immediately knew that I could use the images for the birthday card ministry because ice cream and popsicles are perfect for everyone! I didn’t use the ice cream images though for this card because February is so cold in Vermont and I know that I’m not feeling very much like having a popsicle. But the greeting is perfect any time of year, and I’ll definitely pull out this stamp set when were getting a bit closer to summer. I can envision lots of fun creating cards with this amazing suite. When you first saw the catalog, what immediately caught your eye?

I used this super-old sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches site as the design inspiration for my card. I like adding a diagonal element to add some visual interest to a card design and this sketch seemed perfect for me to showcase the pretty paper in the background.
