Last week I heard a news story about “Tim”, a notorious elephant in Kenya who died of natural causes at 50 years old. It was a real testament to the efforts of the Kenya Wildlife Service that Tim lived as long as he did, especially because he was a “tusker” – an elephant with tusks that reach the ground. His tusks must have been a real magnet for ivory poachers. Given his age, I hope that he fathered many baby elephants so that hopefully more majestic tusker elephants can fill the void.

This sketch was the inspiration for my card layout. I knew that I wanted to include a colored image in the main focal panel, and I remembered my goal to use all of the images in the Wildly Happy stamp set that I received last Spring at the OnStage event in Charlotte. The elephants were especially easy to color, so this card went together lickety-split.
