I was SO excited when I spotted the Storybook Gnomes suite in the new July – December mini catalog! Stampin’ Up! has offered stamps before that included gnome images, but this is the first time that I recall where there are coordinating dies. That’s what really makes this suite so amazing to me – the coordinating dies that cut the stamped images as well as some images from the coordinating Storybook Gnomes DSP. This suite was the first thing that I added on my demonstrator pre-order for the mini catalog, and I had a lot of fun experimenting over the weekend. Isn’t the diecut gnome on this card just too cute?!?
For the DSP on this card I actually pulled out a patterned paper pack named “Rings of Love” from the Sale-A-Bration flyer. I absolutely LOVE this paper (not to dis’ the Storybook Gnomes paper) and I was glad to pair it with the Kindest Gnomes bundle. There are some great patterns that I’m looking forward to using in a bunch of creations over the next 2 months. There are a variety of patterns in this paper and the versatility of this paper will be useful for all seasons.
I created this card so I could participate in the current challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. I really love the versatility of this sketch, and I think I’ll revisit it again in the future. For this creation I used DSP on the pale blue section with solid cardstock base for the other parts. I can see swapping that and having DSP at the top and bottom and an embossed cardstock layer for the pale blue strip. The possibilities are endless!

This wee gnome is just adorable! Fabulous card! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks so much Karren – I had a lot of fun with the gnome and the sketch!
What a fun little guy and I love the paper you picked for behind him! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks so much for your kind words Kim!
