I realized that it had been a while since I had sent out thank you cards for online orders that folks submitted. I value every single one of them and I feel bad that I’ve been a bit lackadaisical in responding. My only defense is that it is summer in VT, which is a special time that slips by quickly. To those who get one of these cards, I hope you also accept my apology for my tardiness.
I used the Impressions Abloom bundle to make this card. This bundle is an Online Exclusive that was released in May but I purchased it this summer as part of the Suite sale that Stampin’ Up!™ had in June. The stamps and dies are wonderful and you can create so many different looks with them. For my card I used the dies to create the flowers and the stenciled white panel, and used the stamps to do the greeting. I pulled out some really old products to emboss the Soft Sea Foam layer and to create the stenciled background behind the flowers. This is my opportunity to remind you to use what you have – it doesn’t break any rules to combine new products with stuff you’ve had for several years. It’s all about creating and enjoying yourself while you do it. And then… mailing those cards so that others can enjoy them too! 😉

This older sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog was the inspiration for my card. That flower on the sketch just about screamed to me to pull out these dies to create a card with this general layout. I love going back to sketches that I haven’t used before and finding inspiration for a project. It totally helps me to get the creative juices flowing.
