Over the weekend I made 10 of this card. I really like using stencils and blending brushes to create images and it was very relaxing to blend away on Saturday morning to create the focal panel. The photograph doesn’t actually capture the color accurately – it looks more blush and peach than the shades of pinks that it is IRL. The photograph also doesn’t capture the shiny sparkle that’s on the small, darkest spots on the card. I used layer 4 of the stencil first with Poppy Parade ink, and then applied a product from another company called “Sparkle Gel”. The one that I used is clear with glitter in it and it dries leaving a pretty, sparkly highlight.

I used this really old sketch challenge as the inspiration for my card. This time I actually followed the sketch quite literally, even having a snowflake on the large panel on the front. The sizing of the panel isn’t perfectly symmetrical with my card base because I used the Textured Notes dies to cut the Basic White layer after I had created the snowflake, and before I added the Sparkle Gel. Because Stampin’ Up!™ sells to other markets, their nesting rectangular dies are proportioned for the metric sizes that they use in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. I really like the bordered edge on the diecut, and I’m ok with slightly different measurements to get that look.
