I was recently asked to join the kids during Faith Formation (aka Sunday School) at church last Sunday to make a card. This is the card that I designed for them. I prepped all of the layers, all they had to do was assemble. And I encouraged the kids to change it up and make it their own. And boy did they! One kid didn’t do a card at all – they instead made it as a sign for their bedroom door so they could indicate when visitors are welcome or not. Another kid made a Father’s Day card and the green and pink circles were turned into balloons by drawing on a string. A third cut up the embossed background to create a mosaic-like look for the card. I was wowed and excited by their creativity!

I was inspired by this card sketch from a past challenge for my card design. I thought that the circles were a great opportunity for the kids to mix up the design and make it their own. It was simple for me to prepare and the amount of time for them to make the card (or sign as I mentioned above) was just right.

The Painted Illusions paper was the inspiration of my color theme. This was one of the Product-of-the-Month (POM) options earlier this year. It’s no longer available, but I still have a few sheets in my stash that I’m going to continue to use for projects.
