fms_201_butterflyI created this card solely to participate in the current challenge out at Freshly Made Sketches. I'm sure that I'll send it off to someone in the future, and I hope they enjoy the flowers and the lone butterfly that adorn this card. I am totally not ready to start slipping into fall mode despite the fact that I just dropped my kid off for the fall semester at college. It still feels like summer, dang it, and I'm going to continue with flowers and butterflies!

This sketch spoke to me; I don't know why it is that sometimes it just happens that I get a vision pretty quickly, and other times – not so much. I purchased the Watercolor Wings bundle recently and I took this opportunity to ink some of the stamps up. At first I was going to just the larger butterfly from the set, but it just overpowered the card. I'm sure that I'll pull that baby out soon and use it for the main image on a card… perhaps with the pretty Watercolor Wash background (?). I knew for sure that I wanted to use a butterfly for the "Any Shape" element on this card. I also am very much in love with the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I've used it before, but I just had to pull it out again. You can't tell from my picture (maybe if you look really closely) – I tried out some of the Gold Metallic Thread for this card. I have some loops that appear above and below the butterfly. It's a subtle element that adds a little bit of sumthin' sumthin'.
