Today is the day – the new Annual Catalog is LIVE! This means that there are a new batch of In Colors as well as new stamps, dies, patterned papers and embellishments. I’ve already placed my order this morning for the products that I wasn’t able to buy during the demonstrator pre-order period. I can’t wait to get the rest of the In Color products, a cool new Online Exclusive bundle and a fun layering greeting stamp set!
Here are the new In colors – I’m sure that we’ll all come to love them over the next 2 years!
There are a couple things that are unusual about this batch of In Colors.
The first is that you may be scratching your head about Strawberry Slush. You are not losing your mind – this color was an In Color back in 2013. Stampin’ Up!™ decided to bring this one back for a repeat performance.
The second “thing” is Cloud Cover, specifically the ink pad for Cloud Cover. You won’t be able to purchase the ink pad (even though it is listed in the catalog) because Stampin’ Up! discovered that the stamped color wasn’t a good enough match to the cardstock and other products. They are allowing demonstrators to purchase the stamp pads that they have in inventory, and once they are sold out they will not be restocked. They determined that the issue is due to a chemical interaction between the ink and the foam pad. Any demonstrators that purchase the ink pads should realize the risk that they are accepting, but the company doesn’t want to risk unhappy customers so they won’t be sold to non-demonstrators.
The good news is there are alternatives! I have to say that I was having very unpleasant flashbacks to the Purple Posy situation back in 2019. That time, the ink was not available in any form – and it took them months to try to figure out the problem and make the decision. Happily this time they figured out quite quickly what the issue is, and we have the ink still. You have a couple of options so you can have an ink pad. The first is the Classic Stampin’ Spot assortment of 5 ink cubes which includes one for Cloud Cover. You can check it out here. Another option is to create your own Stampin’ Spot. To do that, you can use the ink refill and a set of the Uninked Stampin’ Spots to create your own ink pad. Huzzah!!!
