Thanks for stepping up!

Don't worry – this is not going to be a political diatribe post.  I just want to say that I'm very happy that the group has pulled back together and are hard at work.  I wish them nothing but the best in making a proposal to get us through the impasse that has been building for several weeks.  So, I would propose that we should send them a thank you card!  🙂

A royal thank you

This was actually a card that we made at the May stamp club gathering.  This card really is super-easy.  The fleur-de-lis image on the larger circle was created using one of the Decor Elements stencils with Cherry Cobbler ink and a sponge dauber.  I embossed the background with an embossing folder, and then tied seam binding around it once I had it matted on the Night of Navy piece of cardstock.  This card really did make heavy use of my Big Shot between the embossing and the dies.  The Big Shot really makes it all very easy. I also really love the fleur-de-lis image because it is the emblem for the Boy Scouts, which our family has been very involved with for several years now.  Here's the information if you would like to replicate the card:

  • Stamps: Occasional Quotes (retired hostess set)
  • Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Night of Navy
  • Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
  • Big Shot items:  Scallop Circle #2 die, 3" Circle die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
  • Punches:  2 3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" Circle
  • Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Paper piercer and mat pack, sponge daubers, Elegant Trio Stencil
