When Steve saw this card, his comment was that it looked like you were looking out a window at a beautiful landscape scene. It hadn’t occurred to me to see it this way, but as soon as he said it I realized that he’s right. This card design is a perfect way to show off some of the amazing artistic beauty of Stampin’ Up! patterned papers. I made a large batch of cards featuring the papers in the Meandering Meadow paper pack for the September birthday card ministry. I used one sheet of each design, and cut it into 3″ x 4″ pieces. Even from the same sheet, the 2 halves look different so every card is unique.

I didn’t have quite enough paper in the Meandering Meadow samples that I had, so I finished up the cards with several pieces of the Thoughtful Journey paper. The Meandering Meadow paper was created by the artist with pastels and the Thoughtful Journey papers were created using watercolor images. They are both absolutely stunning and it is great to have a card design that shows them off. Also, just as a reminder, the Thoughtful Journey dsp is one of the papers that’s on sale this month for 15% off. If you want this paper, don’t forget to buy it while you can save some $$.

Also, this is the last week to redeem those Bonus Codes that you earned in July. The last day to redeem them is August 31st, but there’s no need to wait until the last minute. Please add Host Code HX3GUU6R on the checkout screen if your order is < $150 (before tax and shipping).

The shopping links below include the colors that I used for both cards. For the Meandering Meadows DSP cards I used Garden Green cardstock and ink. For the Thoughtful Journey DSP cards I used Mossy Meadow cardstock and ink. The card base, the mat for the DSP and the stamped layer all use the same cardstock colors.

This current sketch challenge on the Freshly Made Sketches blog was the inspiration for my card design. I especially love the variety of cards that the design team made for this challenge. They really knocked it out of the park with this one!
