I'm so excited! The card that I shared in my previous post was selected by a member of the Splitcoast Stampers community as one of their "favorites of the week". Squeee! It is so nice to get recognized in that way, it was a boost to my day when I received the notification.
I created this card to participate in another current challenge on Splitcoast Stampers; this time it is a color challenge. The colors for the current challenge (which ends today) is So Saffron, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. I added some Marina Mist as well since those pretty flowers are a 3-step stamp and I needed some depth. I'm really pleased with how soft this card looks because of the colors and the gorgeous What I Love stamp. I used some retired embellishments to accent the card – both ribbons are retired and the large rhinestone was just the ticket. I wanted to add a little bit, but I wanted the stamping to be the focus, so the added goodies needed to be not too overwhelming. I think I accomplished the balance with the final card.
Let me tell you a bit more about the stamps that I used – the greeting is from a photopolymer stamp set that was created as a limited release while Stampin' Up! was experimenting with those "new" stamps. You won't find it in the catalog, but it is still available while supplies last. The gorgeous flowers are from a Sale-A-Bration set called "What I Love", and I was so pleased to finally try it out. I am so glad that I did! You too can receive this SAB exclusive, gorgeous set for FREE when you purchase $50 in merchandise. But don't dilly-dally, the Sale-A-Bration promotion only runs until March 31st.
