Balloon Festoon’d

I pulled out some retired patterned paper and a new stamp and die bundle to create a bunch of these cards for June birthdays for the church card ministry. Lately I’ve been creating a little later in the month and making enough cards so that the card ministry coordinator has enough to get her through the early part of the following month. I’m especially glad that I’ve started doing that because I’m going to be tied up with ZERO time for crafting later this month. This way I have some breathing room to for the July birthdays and I won’t leave the coordinator empty-handed.

This card is a collection of old and new; the patterned paper is from a paper stack that retired several years ago. I still have LOTS of the paper in that pack and the colors are great for birthday cards, so I’m sure I’ll use papers from it again and again. The stamps and dies are products that were new in the latest catalog and this is the first time that I’ve used them. The birthday greeting works perfectly with the largest banner die in the Stylish Shapes, and the balloons are cut with the smallest die in the Balloon Festoon dies. Speaking of – I was surprised when I opened up those dies. The dies include lots of sizes of balloons and the larger sizes are BIG! I think that they would be great to create a banner for a celebration – birthday, retirement, any occasion that warrants balloons.
