This card is another beautiful creation from the March Paper Pumpkin (PP) kit. This kit is definitely one of my favorites that Stampin’ Up! has offered over the years. Of course the amazing artwork is the star of the show here, but the wood embellishments and the very useful stamps make this kit a true winner. This is the card in the kit that features a meadow design for the artwork and a great birthday sentiment. In fact, I’m designing a batch of cards for the church card ministry using this stamp. I’ll share that card here soon!

This is the alternative card that I created with the backside of the artwork card base from the kit. You may be having a feeling of déjà vu with this card; I used the same card layout for the creation I posted here. I used different colored papers and ink, but otherwise kept the card design the same. It is a great layout to showcase a large vertical image (in this case a trimmed card base) with little to distract the eye. I pulled out Melon Mambo cardstock and ink to highlight the darker pink that shows up in the meadow artwork. I’m still in awe of the skill of the artist that created these beautiful images.

I typically put together a PP kit following the instructions as designed. It was a very easy decision this time around to do that AND create some alternative cards, too. My penchant for following the instructions doesn’t mean that you need to do that. If you have a PP kit or sign up for a subscription, don’t feel like you need to create the projects as designed. It is certainly a quick creative fix to follow the instructions – which is the goal of this program. But if you want to spend more time playing with the ingredients and branching out you can repurpose the kit to create some amazing things. Every month a bunch of demonstrators share alternative projects that they’ve created and there’s some great inspiration out there on the internet.
