I haven’t decided yet who I’m going to send this card to. I’m leaning to adding it to my stash of cards that I will send during Lent. For years now I have added something to my routine (instead of giving something up) by sending 1 (or more) cards each day during Lent. This year especially I will be sending out a bunch of cards because I think we’re all emotionally exhausted (I know I am) and feeling isolated. I can’t speed up vaccine delivery, but I can send a card to someone to let them know that I’m thinking of them. Hopefully my card will brighten the day of the recipient and share a little positivity.
I made this card to participate in the challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. I’m definitely getting this one in at the 11th hour, but I’m glad that I’ve made it. I purchased the Simply Succulent bundle as part of my Demonstrator pre-order from the January – June mini catalog, and this is the first time that I played with it. The cool thing is that the bundle price is perfect for getting a free Sale-A-Bration item. So you could buy the bundle and pick the Ombre paper that I used for this card. I love it!
I love this idea. Really love it. Thank you for sharing. Right now, a handmade hug helps make up for the ones we cannot give in person. You are an inspiration. So glad you joined us this week at FMS!
Thanks so much Jen, your kind words really brightened my day! I’m enjoying sending happy mail to people, and I’ve heard from several how much it has helped.
Your succulents are beautiful, and so is sending out cards during this time when so many are struggling. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Thank you so much Amy – I had a fun time with the challenge!
It’s so thoughtful to send out cards during this time. I’ve been sending to my MIL and she recently sent a photo of her fireplace mantle which is overflowing with my cards. It made me realize what an impact they make on long, lonely days. Your card is so sweet – the image is wonderful and the pinks/greens in the background are just right. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thank you so much Kim! Your MIL is clearly loving your creative offerings, and I’m so glad that she shared that photo with you. It’s important to do what we can to lift the spirits of those we care about.
