This is another project that I made as part of the virtual stamping/creating class that I attended recently. I had planned to share this yesterday on the last day for the January – April mini catalog, but life and work waylaid me. I still decided to share it today as we are all caught up with the shiny new-ness of the 2024-25 Annual catalog. The only thing that I used for this box that is retired is the Poetic Expressions patterned paper. This box can easily be created with some of the gorgeous papers that just came out. The sample that the instructor shared used the Countryside Inn patterned paper; I’m so glad that Stampin’ Up! kept that beautiful paper for another year.
I don’t feel comfortable sharing the dimensions for the box here because I want to respect the rights of the demonstrator that taught us how to make this box in the class. I will say that the box is made of 3 parts which are all cut from standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock. The box is cut from one sheet and 2 hinged lids are cut from another piece. This inside of the box is a generous 4 1/2″ x 6″ which is a perfect size to hold several cards and envelopes. The instructor demonstrated putting a bunch of treats inside; it was one of my friends that attended with me that quickly figured out it would hold cards. The instructor actually designed the card around dimensions for a candy bar that she found at a local store. She had two (or maybe 3) of those candy bars inside along with several other smaller treats. My point is that this box is versatile!
As I said above, today is the first day for the new Annual Catalog. There are some really great products that are now available for you to purchase. On the right panel of my blog I have an image of the catalog which you can click to view an online version of the catalog. I will say that the catalog is very different now and the company is relying a lot more on the online store for the detailed information of the products. This has been the best way to know if something is available for quite a while; now it’s the way to see larger images of most stamps and see the details on all of the products. When you shop, please enter host code RJ7NNXEH when you check out online. Only enter the host code if your order (before tax and shipping) is < $150. If it’s $150 or more, please redeem the host rewards so you can enjoy the free products you’ve earned.
