The first thing that I knew that I had to order from the catalog is the Countryside Inn Suite. All of the parts of the suite are quite versatile but the star (at least to me) is the gorgeous patterned paper. This paper in shades of blue is totally my jam! I couldn’t see the paper in detail until I received my order and I was a little surprised to see critters in several of the patterns. The one I used here has birds, and other designs include a bunny and a fox. All of them have small floral patterns with several shades of blue, and I LOVE the designs!
I do have a confession – this card isn’t made exclusively with Stampin’ Up! products. It mostly is, but the diagonal stitched pattern in the Boho Blue layer is done with a die from another paper crafting company. I absolutely love these cover plates and unfortunately Stampin’ Up! doesn’t offer any. All of the other supplies are from Stampin’ Up!, and I love them all. Occasionally I venture outside of Stampin’ Up! if there’s something that I really want that they don’t have. I do want to be transparent when I do this so you don’t think you’ve missed something in the catalog. Per Stampin’ Up! demonstrator rules I can’t tell you where I purchased a non-Stampin’ Up! item.
This sketch challenge from the TGIF Challenge blog was the inspiration for my card. The lower panel seemed perfect for a piece of patterned paper and the strip toward the right seemed perfect for the birthday greeting in the Charming Sentiments set.
I created 10 of these cards to add to the collection for the September birthdays in our church card ministry. Like the previous card that I posted here, it was perfect for making a small batch and adding some variety to the cards our church card ladies will send next month.
