I created a large-ish batch of these cards for the church card ministry for June. Sometimes I create a few different designs or different color schemes for the same design. This time around I made 34 of these cards all featuring the blues that you see here. The Dandy Designs patterned paper is a large stack with 4 sheets of each design, so I had plenty of patterned paper to make all that I needed. This paper was available as a Sale-A-Bration option a couple of years ago, and Stampin’ Up! is selling the last of it on the Clearance Rack so you can get some, too! This paper features some great colors, in mostly the Subtles collection, so they are great for creating at this time of year. This color combination feels especially beach-y to me, and I’m thinking of adult beverages by the seashore listening to the waves hitting the beach. Today is especially windy here in our neighborhood, which also makes me think of being by the coast.

I used this current sketch as the inspiration for my card design. This layout is right up my alley with a spot to use a bit of patterned paper, aligned diecuts along the right and a larger area to have an embossed layer. I was delighted to see that the images and greeting from the Labeled with Love stamp set fit in perfectly in the stitched squares.

I just barely had a brain blast about this sketch! I think I’ll use it again for a batch of Christmas cards – I can use the same present image in Christmas-y colors and find a small appropriate greeting in my stash. I bet that I have something from a past Paper Pumpkin kit that will fit well in that square. Hmmm – when I get caught up on the various projects that I need right now, I’ll have to revisit this idea.
