I have been creating up a storm as I “pre-game” for the big OnStage event that I’m attending later this week. I have attended two OnStage local events, and wayyyy back in 2010, I attended Convention (that’s the old name) in Salt Lake City. But I’m sure that those will pale in comparison with this one because it is the 30th Anniversary of the founding of the company. I have got to imagine that this celebration is going to be more of a blow-out. I have several friends that I’ve made from past events that I’ll get to meet up with and I’m super-excited to see them again. Of course, I’m sure that I will make some new friends, too. That’s always the highlight of these things; stamping folk as a rule are incredibly nice.
I created this card for two reasons – first is to celebrate the 30th birthday of Stampin’ Up!, and second is to participate in the Global Design Project challenge that started today. I’m looking forward to seeing the creations of various folk around the world that are celebrating the birthday of Stampin’ Up! together. I’m sure that there will be some amazing creations!
I did use some old challenges from other sites for the inspiration for this card. The first is a sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches site. And the second is an old color challenge from the ColourQ blog. I loved this color combination because it is bright and happy, and I think the sketch is perfect because I wanted to incorporate the word diecut. Like a card that I shared recently, I cut out three of the “celebrate” diecuts and layered them together to make it stand out a bit more. I think that Stampin’ Up! folks would appreciate this birthday wish – what do you think?
