I designed this card to bring as one of my swaps for OnStage. I’m getting excited about attending the event in Hartford CT this coming weekend. I won’t be meeting up with the “Crazy Crowd” gang that I have the last several times, and I will definitely miss sharing it with those amazing ladies. However, since I’m sticking closer to home a good friend is joining me, and my son is going to drive up and join us for dinner. I know that it is going to be a wonderful weekend! Hopefully the weather will not pose any challenges.

I designed my swap card so that I could also participate in the latest challenge from the Global Design Project. I think this may be my fastest submission ever – this challenge went “live” this morning. I think that the sentiment from the Vibrant Vases set is very fitting for the theme, and it is a good reminder that an accomplishment doesn’t have to be huge to warrant celebration.

I used this past sketch layout as the design inspiration for my card. You can see that the original sketch is a square card, but I hardly ever make those because they are more expensive to send in the mail. So, I took crafters’ initiative and turned it into a landscape, standard-sized card. I like this design because you can use a small-ish piece of Designer Series Paper to add a lot of impact to the card.
