I designed this card for the early December stamp club gathering. I was inspired by another sketch for this one, and I am just plain tickled at how it turned out. There are three – yes 3 – embossed layers on this card. I also really love that I was able to use some non-Christmas patterned paper for a layer, too. I don't know why, but I get a kick out of using re-purposing DSP in this way. And, it is really hard to tell from the picture, but there is a piece of the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper in the center of the embossed frame. I think that it adds just the right amount of glitz to the card. I used some of the Lost Lagoon silky taffeta from the Holiday catalog over the embossing on the white layer; that ribbon is just so gorgeous and a treat to work with.
I know that I just shared another sketch challenge card, but I got into a groove recently using sketches for designs and I just had to share some with you. This sketch flowed really quickly for me on this design, and I think that the gals liked it at stamp club, too.
This card also featured a color combo challenge, too. I was searching the internet for some inspiration and I found a new-to-me color challenge site. This particular challenge was just what I wanted for this card. Stay tuned, you will likely see some more designs using color combinations from this site.
