suite sayings I created this card ages ago in preparation for the card buffet that I held back in June. The products that I used here were originally offered in the Occasions catalog, and thankfully they were all carried forward into the "big" catalog that started up at the beginning of June. I do have to confess that the leaves that I used here are a little fiddly for getting out of the die after you've cut them, but I love them so much that I think it is worth a bit of extra effort. I do dearly love pairing these gorgeous flowers with a simple sentiment to create a "clean" card.

I went out to my favorite color combination blog and pulled up this old combination for this card. I augmented the colors with Crumb Cake for the card base, but I think it is still pretty true to the challenge. What's a little extra of a neutral color between friends? Plus, that's what artistic license is all about and since I'm not submitting for a current challenge I am totally fine with my slight deviation. Oh yeah – I used Calypso Coral instead of Cameo Coral, since the color listed in the challenge is long since retired. When creating the flowers I sponged the centers with the Calypso Coral ink to make them a little darker than the outside edges of the petals.

I also went to the "old trusty" sketch site for the layout inspiration for this card. I switched the orientation to landscape but left the rest of the design in place as it is shown here. I replaced the circles on the layout with the different die-cut flowers. That is a great thing about sketch challenges – shapes are readily replaced by something different that works with what you have. Also, I wasn't really feeling "circle-y" when I was designing but I was having a blast with these flowers. I just can't seem to get enough of them!
