This card actually came together pretty quickly. The pretty patterned paper gave me the idea to pull out the To a Wild Rose stamps and coordinating dies for the focal image. I was in a groove last evening as I put this together, and I had a brain blast to pull out my new Square Vellum Doilies to add some subtle interest to the card. For this card I cut one of those doilies in half so that I could offset the sections on the card front. I’m really liking how this looks! And let me rave about the Flowers for Every Season DSP… I am in love!!! This was a product that I could pre-order as a demonstrator, but I resisted. I recognize that I have and use a lot of floral images, and I was in a mood where I didn’t want to add to that supply. But in the beginning of June I had a re-think. There’s a reason that I have so many floral images – it’s because I love them! So I included this pretty paper in my next order. I’m so happy that I have it because it coordinates with all of the new In Colors; which will be a boost to my card making when I want to feature those colors.

This color challenge was the impetus for this creation. I really like how that particular challenge blog changes the type of challenge from week to week. There is a rotating order to the challenges: Color Challenge, Sketch Challenge, Theme Challenge and CASE the Designer Challenge. I think that I’ve participated in all of the challenge types, but the sketch challenge is the one I do the most. I have to say that I was a little intimidated to work with Magenta Madness because it is pretty bright. However, the Flowers for Every Season DSP has come gorgeous patterns that feature the newest In Colors. I found two patterns that included all 3 colors in the design and chose this one for this card design.

I just rediscovered the Mojo Monday sketches. The creator of these sketches has restarted sharing them and I’m so excited; I have loved her designs for a long time and I’m glad to play again. This particular sketch is from March of last year, but I’ll watch the current challenges and try to join from time to time.
