Irisdescent snow flakes on my way!

At the beginning of the month, I shared my goal to create at least 5 cards each month. My purpose is to have enough cards already made when we get into the Holiday season, so I have one less thing to stress me out.  This card is the one that I made for January, and I'm happily on my way to meeting my goal.

I stamped an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of Whisper White and cut it into four equal sections. I then cut those sections on the diagonal to make 8 different pieces (like a One Sheet Wonder) that I used on my cards.  After trimming, I dabbed on Frost White Shimmer paint randomly over the stamped area to create the basis for the Mother-of-Pearl look over the stamped area. Unfortunately, as with things shiny and glitzy, the photograph doesn't capture what it looks like in real life.  These cards are easy to mass produce, and they don't have extra bumpiness that can pose a challenge when mailing. I'm very happy with my first cards in my quest to build my Holiday card stash. Hopefully you'll be inspired to join me in getting ahead of the game and stamping some holiday cards along with me!

I used the following supplies to make this card:

  • Stamps: Snowflake Soirée, Curly Cute
  • Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
  • Ink: Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze
  • Accessories: Frost White Shimmer Paint
