I have been posting up a storm this week! I’ve felt some extra mojo lately and I just have to let it out with some extra card creations. I sometimes get into a creative funk where I don’t feel like pulling stuff out to make a card. It’s always a relief when I start to come out of it and I have the energy and focus needed to experiment and create. This card was inspired by another challenge (details below), and I find these to be a great way to find some focus for my creativity. As to re-finding my mojo, I think the biggest help that I had this time around was watching a bunch of creative videos on YouTube. They gave me lots of inspiration and different ideas for things to explore, and this helped give me some juice to get going creatively.

This card is especially ironic today as I’m headed to an annual physical (including fasting). Since I like half & half in my coffee, I’m forgoing it until I’ve had my appointment. I definitely have coffee every day, so this inside sentiment is very true for me. And I can’t wait for my appointment to be over so I can get a cup of joe on my way home. 😊

This color challenge was the inspiration for my card. These bright colors just pop and they seemed perfect for these cute, retro coffee cups.

I created shaded squares using masking paper and the Blending Brushes, and the rest of the colors are pretty clear how I used them. I absolutely love the Nothing’s Better Than stamps and coordinating dies, and I was excited to play with them again. I really hope that they don’t retire when the current catalog has the great purge.

One thing I should note is that the clear, raised dots that you see are retired embellishments from a couple of years ago. I think that these are one of my favorites of all time, and I hope that Stampin’ Up! offers something similar again soon.

Updated March 20, 2023: I’m so excited to share that my card was selected by Design Team Member Suzy as her pick for “Cut Above” (the big winner in this challenge is “Headliner). I’m sharing the honor with some great creators, and I’m proud to be in their company. There are some gorgeous creations featuring these colors and the variety is glorious. This recognition is a fabulous start to my week!
