I needed a couple of Easter cards to send to my aunt and a dear friend from church. The Daffodil Daydream bundle has some great images for a special Easter wish, and partnering with some pretty DSP is even better. I loved coloring the images, and I was able to do it lickety-split. Frankly, the biggest time challenge for this card was figuring out the various papers to use for the layers. I played with different shades of purple, Just Jade instead of the pale purple DSP and they all seemed too much. They were either too bright or somehow seemed garish with the colored images. And then I remembered that there was a Highland Heather paper in the Hand Penned paper pack that I was already using for the yellow strips. I liked that sooo much better! What do you think of my DSP extravaganza on this card?
I used this current sketch challenge from TGIF Challenges as the inspiration for my card layout. This seemed perfect for showing off lots of patterned paper and the pretty daffodil image on the vertical layer. I thought about a few options for that layer and decided that I wanted to do a bit of coloring. As I said earlier, that was actually the quick part of the card, I struggled with the other layers, and I’m happy with how it all came together.
