This is the 3rd and final alternative card that I made with the March Paper Pumpkin (PP) kit. I don’t have a photo of the original design because I sent out those cards before I created the alternative designs and decided to share here. I think that the daisy design is my favorite of the three card bases in the kit. On this card with the wider border of the card base it looks like a framed work of art. I think that’s a worthy treatment of these beautiful designs from an artist at Stampin’ Up!
At a Stampin’ Up! virtual event last year they showed a time-lapse video of the artist creating one of the panels in the Meandering Meadows DSP pack. I don’t remember which panel was featured in the video but I remember being amazed and in awe at what they were able to do with a pack of pastels. I wonder if the same artist created the designs in this Paper Pumpkin kit. The look is very similar, so I suspect that it was.
That is one of the things that I adore about Stampin’ Up!. I adore patterned paper and I think it’s the same love that makes me fall in love with fabrics and quilting. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done some quilting, but loving the patterns in fabric and paper feels the same to me. What’s so great about Stampin’ Up! is that their patterned papers coordinate with colors that they offer. It makes it so easy to pull together cardstock, ink and embellishments to create something that has a cohesive look. You don’t have to spend a bunch of time trying to match colors because it’s already done for you. This frees you up to focus on creating!
