I created this card for the All Occasion Card Buffet that happened yesterday. The banner stamp and the dies that I used were first released in the Occasions catalog that was active January – May, and happily they carried forward into the new "big" catalog that came out earlier this month. The greeting is from the super useful Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. The Bloomin' Love stamps are more applicable to Valentine's Day (although not exclusively), so I was very pleased to see that the Happy Anniversary stamp fit into the banner image perfectly. It is always handy to have Anniversary cards on hand, so I was glad to include one in the card buffet.
I drew on the color combination shown here to create this card. The challenge image seems to draw you to doing something in the baby realm, but I decided to go in a different direction. The small punched heart on the banner is how I incorporated Blushing Bride into the finished card. I am thrilled that the Blushing Bride glimmer paper from the Occasions catalog also carried forward into the new catalog.
You may be admiring the seemingly laser-cut heart image on the card. I accomplished this with the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit dies. I cut the main heart image out of the Whisper White layer for the card. I adhered that Whisper White layer to a Melon Mambo mat, and then once I popped out any "hanging chads" from the die cut, I adhered it into the opening that it had been cut from. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! The Pool Party flowers are cut out using the other two dies that come in the Thinlit set. Those flowers align perfectly with the large and small flowers on the heart die. These dies work together wonderfully to create a die cut that is so detailed it seems like a laser cut image. One small tip – the Precision Base Plate can really help to make these fussy dies more enjoyable to work with.
