In an online group a challenge was issued 3 weeks ago to create a card with two diagonal layers to create a background. The challenger wanted us to use the A and B side of a piece of patterned paper to create the cool background. For mine I used two separate sheets of DSP because I wanted to have the right level of contrast between the two paper and the white card base. This is a really great way to use up some patterned paper from your stash and create a cool card!

I made several of these cards to use for the church card ministry. I pulled out the retired Countryside Inn patterned paper to create the background. I’ve told you many times before that I’m frugal with my supplies. Because I wanted to make several of these card, I altered the dimensions a little bit to maximize the patterned paper. Rather than a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card (normal card size), for this project I made a 5 1/4″ x 4″ card so that I could get 6 pieces from the patterned papers that I used.

I used a few retired products for this card. I love making a teeny tiny dent in my stash for these card ministry cards! As I mentioned, the patterned paper that I used is retired. I pulled out a greeting stamp from a past Paper Pumpkin kit and the Night of Navy gingham ribbon was a perfect element for this card.
