It was a quiet weekend in the Sharp house, and I spent some of my time making this card yesterday. I just received the Timeless Arrangements bundle on Friday and I was excited to give it a try. This bundle is very interesting and a little different from the usual offerings. I confess that I was a little stumped by it when I saw it in the catalog. A few weeks ago I saw something online (not sure if it was a video or image) that finally helped me understand how the dies work. There are rectangles (that’s easy) and there are several dies with a thin strip with foliage sticking up. The aha moment came when I realized that these pieces are meant to be put behind the rectangles to have some accents that can be layered to give some interesting elements. I like this clever twist and I’m so happy that I have this bundle now!

This sketch was the inspiration for my card layout. The only thing that I changed is the rectangle is in front of the circle instead of behind it. I wanted the circle the be a more subtle element so I could feature the Timeless Arrangements bundle. I purchased the Vellum Basics Specialty paper for the Demo-only Creativity Now event in June. I pulled out one of those patterns for the circle, and that gave me the look I wanted. A subtle element that adds a bit of interest to the card.

Once I had the layout determined, I went to the Tic, Tac Toe Challenge blog to look for inspiration to guide other elements for my card. I followed the left column: Friendship, Any Color, and Any Shape Die. This combination seemed perfect for what I wanted to do with my card. The greeting I picked from the stamp set seems perfect for friendship (to me), and the rest of the boxes were easy-peasy.
