A couple of weeks ago I joined another online stamping class. I think this was the 5th one that I attended and the organizers did a great job as always. This time around seemed to have a bit more focus on fun fold cards. The organizers say that they don’t coordinate with each other about what they are showing, so it’s interesting that they each had a fun fold style card among their projects. This card is about folding an 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of DSP to create a double pocket for inserting other panels for greetings. I was reluctant to use a whole piece of my beloved DSP but decided that I would take the plunge. I replicated one of the 3 designs that the teacher put together for examples because I loved how simple it is with the Frames & Flowers DSP which includes sheets of die cuts, too.
The inside pocket has a panel for writing out a message to the recipient. I’ll be getting this card in the mail today for a special friend that is celebrating a birthday soon. She moved away several years ago and I think of her often and really miss her. I want to send her a special birthday card to mark her special day. She definitely won’t be getting any other cards like this one! I think that I’m going to use a Post-It note for the greeting so she can reuse the card if she wants to.
I also really appreciate the versatility of the Simply Said stamp set. There are greetings for lots of occasions and the fonts are classic and usable for lots of projects. If you have a hard copy catalog, you will find the stamp set near the front in the Mix & Match section. These stamps partner wonderfully with the ephemera packs to create quick and easy cards. I encourage you to check them out!
