This was the first card that we made at the South Burlington stamp club April meeting. I usually start with the more involved card so that people can tackle that while they are “fresh”. This time around, I should have had this card go second because the group put it together super-quick. I had decided to pre-cut all of the flower elements so that the group wouldn’t have to wait for time at the die cut machine. I also put adhesive sheet on the back of the Bumblebee cardstock (the top layers of the flowers) diecuts, so the flowers were assembled really quickly. All of this prep work meant that the cards came together quickly. I really like these multi-layered diecut flowers, and I’m very excited that the dies and the coordinating stamp set are carrying over into the next “big” catalog.

I did use a couple of retiring products on this card, and unfortunately one of the products is already sold out. The Hand Penned patterned paper was apparently quite popular, and it’s now gone. 😢 I also used the Messages die for the label on this card, and I’m happy to say that it is still available. It’s even on sale, so there’s an extra incentive to snag the die while you can. I’ve found that this die is wonderful beyond the two stamp sets that were designed to coordinate with it. Don’t get me wrong – those stamps are great! But there are several different shapes that are great for cutting out greetings with other stamp sets – like the Easter Blessings greeting in the Daffodil Daydream set. I’m sad that this die is retiring because of this versatility, and I hope you can get one if you’re interested.
