For several years now I have designed a card to go in Easter baskets from our church that are delivered to shut-ins from our church community. Normally I get the materials prepared and then I join the Women’s Spirituality group for some fun and fellowship as I guide the group through the assembly process. Sadly this year, we had to forego the group time and devise a new plan. Judy is the gal who coordinates this specific meeting, and she offered to assemble the cards with her granddaughter. So, I will drop off the supplies and she will pick them up – like a spy dead-drop.

You may be doing a double-take seeing this sketch. I just shared another card that I designed for our church community using this same layout. I actually created this card first with the design, but I liked it so much that I decided to use it again for the birthday card that I shared earlier. In fact, I used the same pack of patterned paper for both cards, but the colors are different, so you get a different look. Both of them feature some floral/foliage images, so they are very uplifting while we are still waiting for Spring to show up here in VT. I hope that you have enjoyed my creations mixing retired pretties with current staples.

As of the last update that I received, the plan was for the church staff to deliver Easter baskets to the shut-in community. However, things are shifting so quickly in response to COVID-19 that I’m not sure if this plan is still the current approach as I type this. Right now, mailing cards is still an option, so if the basket delivery can’t happen, hopefully the cards can be mailed. Many prayers for the safety of everyone, and finding ways to support each other in new ways.
