I decided to take the day off from work yesterday, and I got to play with my stamping stuff. I first tried this great craft in the late summer several years ago, and every year I re-discover how much I love to create with Fall colors. I drew inspiration for the colors that I used from the beautiful Come to Gather DSP. I really love these colors together and I had so much fun creating on my day off!
You may be wondering how I created the wood-look background that you see. I applied Crumb Cake ink to the embossing folder, and then ran it through my Big Shot. This transfers ink into the de-bossed spots and some of the larger flat sections of the pattern. Since our inks are water-based, all I had to do to clean the folder was run it under the tap and let it air dry. Shazam!
I created this card to participate in the latest challenge on the Global Design Project site. My previous entry into one of their challenges was selected as a co-winner, so I was inspired to try again! Also, I immediately knew what I wanted to create when I saw the sketch. Thankfully, this card was one of those times where what I envisioned in my head came together nicely in the finished design (IMHO).
Edited 9/17: I’m super excited to share that my card was picked as one of three “Special Mention” submissions to the challenge. This news was a lovely way to start my week!
